Tuesday Blog Game - Turn 10


The party was able to make camp in the prison area. The bones of the skeletons were spread along the approaching hallway and the table was up-ended to block the entrance to the room.

Trying the keys from the key ring on the doors to the east proved successful. After a few tries, both doors were unlocked using the keys.

The northern-most door contained a couple of chests and shelves. The shelves contained a box with 16 squat candles, a stack of unused parchment, a sealed pot of ink and 6 quills. The chests contained mostly moldy and disintegrating clothing. A sturdy cord made of what appears to be cotton, a well-made leather vest bearing numerous shiny metal buttons sealing a number of bulging pockets and a sturdy leather pouch are located near the bottom of one chest. A pair of boots and a wand are found in the other chest among former pieces of clothing.

The southern-most door contained the remnants of an armory. The room is mostly empty but two large wooden shields, a light crossbow, two quivers with 20 bolts each, a flail, a quarterstaff and two sets of manacles hang from pegs on the wall.

    1. A casting of Detect Magic reveals that the cord, the vest, the boots and the wand have magical auras.

      The pouch is very well made and seems to have held up to the ravages of age better than any of the other mundane items. The front of the pouch is decorated with a flower. A successful Knowledge (nature) check could identify the type of flower.

  4. I tell Osric: "There is a wand in there you might have use od." To group: "Who is up for getting water?" And when someone heads that way, i head that way with them and get water for gronk too. If we get back, i eat part of a trail ration, drink some more water and try to figure out the items.

    8. Osric easily identifies the boots as Daredevil Boots because of the telltale shimmering of vibrant shades of blazing red and burning orange when they were held up to the light.

      The pouch proved more difficult but he eventually proclaimed the item as a Pathfinder's Pouch. To complete his examination, the wizard was only missing the command word to open the extradimensional space locked within the pouch.

    1. That would require a Mending spell and all of the pieces of the clothing. It might not completely fix what you have but it would improve the condition.

      Thayross used both of his healing spells on Brother Gronk but Magni can still use his Heavenly Fire on you.

  14. I will attemlt to identify the wand using Detect Magic and concentrating until I have gotten every possible bit of information I can that way and then using Spellcraft.
