The party headed to the west with Remy scouting the way. Shortly down the corridor the passage was lit again by the magical green gems.

From around the corner ahead, two animated skeletons armed with spears appeared.

Tuesday Blog Game - Turn 21


The party searched the ratfolk for valuables and identified the potions. Magni took the small weapons. Osric took the gold coins to infuse the ink so he could scribe spells into his found spellbook. Thayross healed the injured using the Wand of Cure Light Wounds.

The remaining treasure is yet to be claimed. There are two potions, some alchemical items and masterwork thieves’ tools.

Tuesday Blog Game - Turn 20

The ratfolk stepped back and fired at Buzz but missed the paladin. Buzz stepped forward and attacked with his great club. The blow landed and dealt 14 damage.

Magni attempted to intimidate the ratman by remaining standing but the enemy paid him no mind. Brother Gronk spent is time climbing out of the pit. The monk ascended 15 feet up the wall. Osric cast Acid Splash but the spell missed the target.

Thayross moved forward and used his wand to heal 5 damage from Magni. Ursi stepped forward and continued to attack the ratfolk. The bear’s bite dealt 5 damage and killed the antagonist. Remy saved his arrow as there was no more enemies in sight.

The ratman was wearing small leather armor and was armed with a small masterwork dagger and a small light crossbow with 5 normal bolts and 5 masterwork bolts. It was also carrying two potions, an acid flask, an alchemist’s fire, a tanglefoot bag, masterwork thieves’ tools and 121 gp.

What do you do next? There are exits to the north, east and south.

Tuesday Blog Game – Turn 19

The ratfolk fired his crossbow at Magni. The bolt hit and dealt 9 damage to the halfling. The ratman smiled and reloaded his weapon.

Buzz took a swing at the dire rat in front of him. His attack landed and dealt 12 damage to the giant rodent and killed it. The paladin stepped forward to engage the ratman. Magni began casting a Summon Monster I spell. Brother Gronk jumped to his feet. The rat attempted to bite him, but the attack missed. The monk kicked the giant rat and dealt 9 damage which killed it.

Osric moved forward navigating around the pits to the north and unleashed a jet of fire at the ratfolk. The ratman nimbly dodged the wizard’s supernatural ability and escaped unscathed. Thayross used the wand to cure Remy again. This time the rogue was healed 7 damage and regained consciousness. He quickly scrambled to his feet and drew his bow. Ursi attacked the dire rat in front of him. The bear missed with its bite but hit with both of its claws dealing 3 damage each and killed the rat.

Tuesday Blog Game – Turn 18


The ratfolk fired his crossbow at Brother Gronk but missed. The creature reloaded his weapon. Buzz rushed forward to engage but noticed two more concealed pits as he traveled. The paladin maneuvered around the hazards but came up just short of the enemy. The dire rat moved forward and attacked Buzz. The vicious attack managed to find a weak spot in Buzz’s armor and dealt 5 damage.

Magni moved into the room, positioning for future action. Brother Gronk hustled past the halfling but failed to notice the concealed pit in front of him. The monk scrambled for the edge as the floor gave out from under him, but Gronk was not quick enough so he fell 20 feet and took 5 damage. The waiting dire rat scaled the wall and climbed down into the pit.

Thayross used his wand to heal 3 damage from Remy. He then instructed Ursi to engage the enemy. The bear moved forward and around the newly revealed pit to engage a dire rat. Osric moved forward and fired his short bow at the dire rat engaged with Ursi. The arrow missed the target.

The dire rat attacked Ursi and hit with its bite for 1 damage.

Tuesday Blog Game – Turn 17


Another crossbow bolt streaked from the darkness and struck Remy for 8 more damage and rendered the wounded rogue unconscious.

The party rushed forward to Remy’s aid. Buzz ran forward stopping just behind the fallen rogue and determined that he was still alive. Further, the paladin was able to make out the pit trap just ahead. Just past the edge of the light he was able to see four small figures.

Mangi pressed forward after seeing Buzz head that way and hearing the pained scream of Remy. Remy’s condition stabilized. Brother Gronk moved forward next to Remy. The half-orc could make out the shapes in the darkness with his darkvision. He saw a ratfolk wearing leather armor and reloading a light crossbow. A trio of dire rats stood next to it; one to the left and two to the right.

Osric moved forward but held back at the edge of the light source created by Magni. Thayross and Ursi moved forward to aid Remy. The druid had the Wand of Cure Light Wounds in his hand.

Tuesday Blog Game - Turn 16

After the battle, Busby gathered up the best fitting pieces of armor and clothing from the zombies and re-equipped himself. Osric cast Detect Magic but did not discover any new auras. Upon seeing the sigil of Kaer Maga on the tunic, he started to drone on about facts and factoids regarding the large Varasian city.

While Magni and Brother Gronk bantered, Remy sneaked down the hall to explore ahead.
The rogue moved to the limits of the light and entered a large chamber at the end of the hallway. The rogue stopped short of an apparent pit trap ahead. While examining the trap, a crossbow bolt streaked from the darkness, catching the rogue unaware and dealt 9 damage.

Tuesday Blog Game - Turn 15

Brother Gronk unleashed a flurry of blows on the zombie. Both fists hit and dealt 3 damage and 1 damage respectively. As the monster was teetering, Remy ran it through with his spear dealing 8 damage.

Thayross used a charge from the wand of Cure Light Wounds and healed Buzz to full.

The zombies each wore a suit of chainmail, a pair of boots, a tunic bearing the sigil of the Kaer Maga town guard, a cloak and a belt. No weapons or other valuables were found.

What do you do next?

The passage continues to the east into darkness. Brother Gronk can make out that the corridor opens into a wider chamber ahead.

There was another unexplored intersection to the west within the lighted area.
