You awake on the floor of a large dark room. The stone floor
is cold and damp against your face. You feel a chill through the tattered
remains of your clothing.
Six strangers are in the room with you. Each just stirring
awake at the same time as you. You remember who you are but you do not know
where you are or how you got here. No one appears to be injured.
A few crates and barrels are scattered around the 20’ x 40’ chamber.
Metal hooks are set into the walls at 10’ intervals. The stone ceiling is 10’
above.
The darkness of the room is infringed upon by a dim green
light entering through the gap under a locked sturdy wooden door. The door is set
into the center of one of the short walls.
What do you do?
I detect for EVIL !
ReplyDeleteAs far as I know, you do not detect any Evil auras (I have not received all of the characters).
Deletewas evil an option?
DeleteBROTHER GRONK blinks in confusion and examines the other prisoners
ReplyDeleteAm I hurt? Is anyone hurt? Search the crates and barrels.
Do you want rolls from us like in the other game?
When I expect rolls. I will ask. If you want to volunteer rolls for things like perception and other skill check, it might speed things along.
DeleteOn behalf of Kelly:
ReplyDeleteLook around, do I know any of them? Is there any writing on the crates?
Rolled 18 on perception
If I don't see anything hostile, I will look for traps on the crates.
after assuring myself that no evil is afoot I introduce myself,
ReplyDelete"Hello fellow abductees, I'm Killington, Busby Killington, paladin of the Society. Pathfinder Society, that is. Does anyone know where we are, or why we're here?"
Good eve Sir Paladin, I am Remy a finder of lost items.
ReplyDelete"Well met, set Remy. I have lost my way, perhaps together we can find a way out. What say the rest of you?"
ReplyDeleteSet =sir
DeleteSounds like a plan. Why don't you check on the others while I check the door so see if I can get us out.
ReplyDeleteGRONK looks up from an empty barrel. "How you do dat? Gonna break it?"
ReplyDeleteCheck everyone's condition, then check the barrels & crates for gear & weapons.
ReplyDeleteNo one appears to be injured.
Delete"Greetings all! I am Thayross Woodenfeld, Druid of the Bear. I have no idea why we are here but ket us doour best to get out."
ReplyDeleteI cast Level 0 Druid spell Detect Magic.
"Hello Mr Wooodenfeld, do you sense anything nearby?"
ReplyDeleteThere is an open barrel in the rear left corner of the room. It is filled with fresh yet mineral-full water. The water is seeping down from the ceiling and along the wall to catch in the barrel.
ReplyDeleteThe other barrels appear to be weathered but are otherwise whole and sealed shut. Most of the crates are rotten and in disrepair. There are also a few moldy burlap sacks and a couple of crude buckets among the room's contents. There is likely enough material to fuel a small fire or a handful of torches. One crate looks new. It is nailed shut and is heavy.
The wall near the water barrel appears to have been eroded by the seeping water and moss growth. The metal hook in the wall appears to have loosed from it mounting and the mortal between the stone is absent in many places.
The door appears to be in good repair and very sturdy. While there is no lock, it does not open and appears to be barred from the outside.
Detect magic reveals an aura of magic on the other side of the door. Further concentration and study is required to learn more.
When I realize that I don't have my spell book I have a meltdown for about 5 minutes.
ReplyDeleteThen I spend a couple of more minutes pulling myself together.
Check to to if I'm still wearing my bonded object (ring)
And then I remember that Killington started introductions and I introduce myself as Osric.
Osric is saddened to find his ring is also missing.
DeleteAfter determining that the door cant be easily opened. I'll take a close look at the hook and wall to see if its feasible to dig through. If that fails I'll see if I can open the crate.
ReplyDelete"well hello master Osric. I know you don't seem to have your spellbook, but do you still have any spells inside your head wanting to be freed?"
ReplyDeletecheck the hook, can it be pulled free? Maybe to use as a tool to work at the remaining mortar. And hopefully get some bricks out to make a hole. Or use the hook to open the good crate.
"Ughn," Gronk grunts. "Use hook to open crate. Maybe useful tings in dere."
ReplyDeleteGRONK will attempt to pull the hook from the wall.
"Grettings Osric, can you do mage hand? Or perhaps I should ask: Can you do mage hand on the other side of the door?" Casts light in the middle of the far wall. "what kind of magic is on the other side? Are there any secret doors?" and starts looking for secret doors. he looks at the wall from close to see if there is any variance in the stonework. Gronk, are you a dwarf or just ridiculously strong?
ReplyDeleteGRONK writes off the hafling as a half-wit, since he cannot tell the difference between a dwarf and a half-orc. He will keep a wary eye on him though, since he's a spellcaster.
ReplyDeleteHe blinks at Maghud while working the hook free of the plaster. "You insult both dwarf and orc with your stupid question."
The hook is realitively easy to pull free of the wall. The hole left behind shines the same pale green light as the illumination coming from under the door. Stones from this section of the wall can be removed with minimal effort.
ReplyDeleteThe hook works well to open the crate. The box contains 12 1-day standard rations.
GRONK eyes the holes shining through the wall. "I make holes bigger. Tear down the wall. We take big crate of food and get out of here."
ReplyDeleteCan we excavate a man-sized hole in the wall?
With a little effort, yes.
DeleteSir Killington other than a few first level spells for emergencies I only have acid splash, detect magic, and a line of fire.
ReplyDelete(Turning to Kelly) I'm sorry I didn't get your name...but I don't have mage hand memorized and seeing as I don't have my spell book I won't be able to switch it out.
Gronk, while you're at it can you try to harvest some of the green luminescent wall.. we may need a light source later.
"Name is magni, I am a halfling from Jorgenshire near the mountains by the Dwarven kingdom. Perhaps I can teach you to do magic with out writing. And perhaps the Druid can teach us something as well." The first thing about being a scorcerer is keeping track of personal energy." and I show him mage hand.
DeleteMagni, since you know mage hand, perhaps you could lift the bar holding the door closed
Delete(I'm assuming that there is some kind of seem or crack that he could look through)
The bar is too heavy to lift via mage hand.
DeleteThe stones are not luminescent. There is light coming in from the other side of the wall.
Delete👍
Delete👍
"If I can teach any of you to help with mage hand, perhaps then we can lift the bar. Or attach the hook to a solid piece of wood and use it to dig through the door to the latch."
DeleteI Stand on a crate and examine the wall some more. Then go to seeing if I can magically mend the clothes with prestidigitation. "Someone check for secret doors higher up."
Mending is required to fix the clothes.
DeleteI drink some water and eat some food. talk to the person closest to me: What is there about you that you want me to know?
ReplyDeleteGRONK ignores the daft halfling and digs a GRONK-sized hole in the wall.
ReplyDeletei ask around on everyone's condition, trying to determine by how hungry everyone is, how long we may have been here.
ReplyDeletethen help make a hole in the wall.
No one is especially hungry or thirsty. It is hard to gauge time based upon that.
