Danboy's Game

Below is links to various resources on the lore of my Campaign:

The Story so far:

The party began it's journey with the rather humble origin of following a local guide to the recently uncovered 'ancient shrine' to a First Artificers deity. The true nature of the shrine was revealed by a collection of scared followers of a new deity, Tathdal. The revelations and impact of this knowledge caused those guided by other deities to follow the trail left by other followers of another new god, Cragus. After finding a newly built temple to Cragus, made into the base of a mountain and populated with numerous races and a core of devoted Clerics, the party decided that these new deities were to be allowed to exist without prosecution. Omblazon and Malcom both claimed that their deity guided them to aid these followers, and warned of an impending conflict with both emboldened cultists of Myrmitha, and those who saw any other divine powers beyond the Second Artificers as heretical.

For almost three months the party's adventure led them to seek out more information and wisdom from those new deities and their followers. Consistently finding that there were signs of resurgence of the First Artificers, and the emergence of a third pantheon of unknown origin. (Although it is later revealed that the new pantheon is being formed from the divine mingling of the First Artificers) A large collective of Myrmithan cultists marshaled a considerable fighting force in the mountains, and began a campaign to split the Kingdom of Khetora in two. Thanks in now small part to the party however, two of their three hold-outs were uncovered in a short time, and the party themselves destroyed one. The survivors of the Dwarf community spoke of dark powers their clerics and other divine orders began to use to intimidate and usurp the power from the lords of their people. A large portion of the survivors, both refugees and prisoners of war, settled in a ghetto outside Greyhill, where the party established a permanent residence.

A month after the encounter with the vile dwarf cultists, and other hostile forces, the party marched south, and sailed into the Emerald Sea to waylay and confront the Catfolk Lord Palemane. Palemane was the puppet master behind the of the death of Bobo's family. Venturing from the feudal kingdoms of the Tanglespire, the Catfolk sought an artifact from Suruptia. (Later it is revealed that Suruptia is responsible for the creation of the Catfolk, and perhaps many of the animal-kin. This is a historic discovery, as until now, the true creators of the various races were lost to time and strife.) The party is successful in destroying Palemane and reclaiming the artifact. Returning it to a temple in the Veilwood for the Catfolk there to keep safe and revere. Bobo, distraught over not being an equal to an opponent he desperately sought to destroy, was so crushed by the hollow victory over Palemane, that he returned with his newly discovered Half-Sister, Naomi, to The Valley of the Fox to reunite his kingdom under his family banner again.

After the crisis had calmed down from its climax, the constant requests from Greyhill and Khetor diplomats and army commanders lessened. The party then returned to it's task of uncovering more clues as to the cause of the new deities emerging. The town of Titan's Steppe provided just that. Clues of another plane of existence, with horrors and creatures of macabre and twisted nature, was revealed. Only with the aid of the Legendary artifact of Terranous, 'The Bulwark', which Omblazon dawned with divine impetus, was the party able to confront the shadowy demons of this other plane and escape with their lives. Following that trauma, the party spent a considerable time recovering and researching. The war with the Myrmitha forces has drawn to its end, with a resounding victory for the Kingdom. This brings about considerable changes however, and redoubles the governmental persecution of those who follow a faith outside the Second Artificers. They various cities have begun to round up and 'reform' followers of taboo gods. The party spends the next few months in seclusion in Greyhill, carrying out research and debating what the next move must be.

The Party's Estate and Finances:

Financially, the party has made a considerable effort to create a self-sufficient homestead. The Ogress and toddler, among a few other carefully vetted staff at the estate handle the mundane operations. The party's funding of a few local businesses, and investments into a few trade routes has provided an ample income currently of 200gp per month, of which roughly 25-40gp a month is left over after expenses. The Council of Greyhill is in favor of your presence, despite your protests against religious prosecution, being that you are hailed among many in Greyhill as heroes of the Kingdom for your efforts abroad.

Current Threads:
The party has the current threads,
  • Malcom claims to know of another artifact somewhere in the heartland of the Animal-Folk, the expansive forests and mountains of the Tanglespire.
  • Omblazon claims that his deity has charged him with finding the means to oppose an opposite to him that has emerged as a champion of a rival to his god. He has been studying during the respite and believes that it is likely a champion of the Goddess Dargah.
  • Although he has left the party to seek revenge against his family's slayers, the Kitsune fighter Bobo has returned to The Valley of the Fox, which is also in Tanglespire.
  • Myrmitha's cults have been routed in the kingdom, however indications that another powerful deity has agents in the kingdom. The demons and portal to another place that you found on the Steppe and in the ash covered town suggests that somewhere in the kingdom there may be additional cells of cultists, and danger.
There are other smaller asides available obviously, the party still remains the owner of the large stone estate in Greyhill, which has a number of uses including housing several aids and provisions for the party. There are several cities and smaller settlements the party has not visited yet.
