Tuesday Blog Game - Turn 14


Brother Gronk unleashed a flurry of punches at the zombie. One punch connected but only did 1 damage to the undead. Remy dropped his bow and surged forward, tumbling through and behind the monsters to attack with his spear. He thrust his weapon into the one facing Brother Gronk dealing 2 damage. Busby activated smite evil on the zombie he was facing. His blow from the great club landed. The holy assisted attack penetrated trough the monster’s defenses and dealt 10 damage.

Thayross moved forward and used the wand of Cure Light Wounds to heal Brother Gronk in full. Magni cast Disrupt Undead but missed the target. Osric cast Acid Splash and attacked the zombie fighting with Buzz. The acid hit and dealt 2 damage, causing the undead to collapse.

The remaining zombie took a swing at Brother Gronk but it missed the half-orc.

Tuesday Blog Game - Turn 13

Brother Gronk ran up and gave a sturdy kick to the zombie on the left. The blow landed with a thud but only dealt 5 damage to the unfeeling flesh. Remy fired an arrow at the next zombie but missed his target. Buzz moved up and swung at the same enemy. He too missed the monster, striking a blow against its armor.

Thayross and Ursi waited for an opportunity to join the melee while Magni targeted one of the zombies with a Disrupt Undead spell. The attack missed. Osric tried his luck with an arrow but missed as well.

The first zombie swung at Brother Gronk. It hit and dealt 8 damage to the half-orc. The second swung at Busby. It to hit and dealt 6 damage with its meaty fist.

Tuesday Blog Game - Turn 12

Magni cast Light on one of his stones and threw it further down the hallway. The additional light illuminated more of the hallway but the room beyond remained dark. Osric cast Detect Magic and stated to concentrate.

Busby and Brother Gronk stated forward. Remy, Thayross and Ursi at their heels. Gronk, turned to the paladin, "Probably zombies waiting to wake up and attack us. Maybe they got more gear though." As the light shown fully upon them, the bodies stood to face the approaching adventurers.

Though weaponless, the zombies were dressed in armor and the livery of the town guard of Kaer Maga.

Tuesday Blog Game - Turn 11


Once the party had fully rested, healed and identified the found magical treasures, they headed back toward the darkened passage to the southeast.

After peering around the corner and traveling a short distance, Busby was able to make out something on the floor ahead. Brother Gronk, with better eyes for seeing in the dark, was able to make out that the something was two bodies. He further saw that the corridor opened into a larger chamber ahead.

Tuesday Blog Game - Turn 10


The party was able to make camp in the prison area. The bones of the skeletons were spread along the approaching hallway and the table was up-ended to block the entrance to the room.

Trying the keys from the key ring on the doors to the east proved successful. After a few tries, both doors were unlocked using the keys.

The northern-most door contained a couple of chests and shelves. The shelves contained a box with 16 squat candles, a stack of unused parchment, a sealed pot of ink and 6 quills. The chests contained mostly moldy and disintegrating clothing. A sturdy cord made of what appears to be cotton, a well-made leather vest bearing numerous shiny metal buttons sealing a number of bulging pockets and a sturdy leather pouch are located near the bottom of one chest. A pair of boots and a wand are found in the other chest among former pieces of clothing.

The southern-most door contained the remnants of an armory. The room is mostly empty but two large wooden shields, a light crossbow, two quivers with 20 bolts each, a flail, a quarterstaff and two sets of manacles hang from pegs on the wall.

Tuesday Blog Game – Turn 9


Remy fired his last rock at the skeletal archer to the right. The projectile struck and destroyed the monster.

The nearest skeleton stepped out of its cell and attacked Brother Gronk with its claws. Both bony appendages hit dealing 3 and 6 damage respectively. The monk fell to the floor with a shout of pain.

Osric stepped forward and cast Acid Splash at the remaining archer. The spell hit the skeleton, dissolving bones and killed it. Realizing that he cannot heal Broth Gronk, Magni stepped forward and cast Disrupt Undead targeting the skeleton to the far left. The spell hit for 4 damage and caused the monster to collapse into a pile of bones. Thayross stepped forward to have a better view of the battle. The druid commanded his companion to continue attacking the skeleton. Ursi, the bear, attacked the monster next to it. Its bite dealt 4 damage and vanquished the skeleton.

The remaining undead left its cell, moved and attacked Busby. A swipe from the monster’s claw dealt 3 damage. The paladin returned the attack and crushed the monster with his great club. The blow landed and dealt 11 damage sending bones flying.

Brother Gronk remained unconscious, near death, but had stabilized and stopped bleeding. Remy recovered his two fired stones.

Two spears and two short bows lay on the floor among the bones. Two quivers with 17 and 18 arrows lay on the tabletop. A set of keys on a ring, two pewter mugs and a wayfinder sit atop stacks of papers, weighing them down. A candelabra with a complement of half burned candles and a cup with 3 tindertwigs are situated in the middle of the table. A well made dagger protruded from the table, tacking down a piece of parchment.

The two eastern-most doors remain closed.

Tuesday Blog Game – Turn 8


The skeleton to the right advanced and stabbed Buzz with a two-handed thrust of its spear for 8 damage.

Remy stepped forward and fired a rock from his sling at the skeletal archer to the right. The rock hit dealing 3 damage. The archer fired back at Brother Gronk. The arrow found its mark, dealing 5 damage to the monk.

The cell doors to the left and right began to open as additional unarmed skeletons prepared to enter the room.

Osric moved to the corner and cast Acid Splash at the skeleton attacking Buzz. The spell hit and dealt 3 damage. Magni moved up and fired his heavenly fire at Buzz healing the paladin 5 damage.
Thayross and Ursi waited for an opening to make an attack. Brother Gronk attacked the skeleton in from to Buzz with his fist. The resulting punch dealt 8 damage and knocked the monster to pieces. He then moved to engage the other armed foe.

Thayross sent Ursi into battle. The bear attacked the skeleton with the spear with its bite. The bear’s attack hit and dealt 4 damage which reduced the monster to a pile of bones. The remaining skeletal archer fired an arrow at Brother Gronk but it missed.

Buzz moved up and attacked an emerging skeleton from the nearest cell. The improvised great club landed and dealt 11 damage which crushed the monster.

Tuesday Blog Game - Turn 7


The party moved down the hallway to investigate further.

The northern passage leading from the intersection went 25 feet and turned to the east before opening into a guard room. A large table sat in the center of a room with six cell doors. A clutter of papers, small objects and quivers of arrows sat atop the table. The room was lit in the green light shed by two additional wall mounted gems.

Two skeletons armed with spears stood at the end of the table nearest the passage. Two skeletons armed with short bows stood at the opposite end of the table.

Tuesday Blog Game - Turn 6


Buzz Killington moved to the corner of the hallway and peered around. Laying on the floor amongst the remains of the skeletons was another spear. The paladin retrieved the weapon. The corridor continued to the west lit buy more of the green glowing gems. A stout wooden beam lay across the center of the door, barring it from opening from within. Past the door, the passage branched to the north and continued straight.

Osric and Thayross cast Detect Magic and examined the nearest glowing gem. Both picked up equally strong auras of evocation and necromancy from the stone. Attempts to identify the magic only revealed that the light was produced by an application of Continual Flame. The Necromancy element proved elusive.

Peering down the darkened hallway, Brother Gronk was able to see that the passage continued a way to the south before turning to the east. The monk was also able to make out a hole in the wall where presumably a green gem used to be housed.

Magni and Remy recovered their thrown rocks and searched for more usable stones. Finding none, Remy began trying to break some of the larger stones into smaller ones. This activity has yet to yield results.

Tuesday Blog Game – Turn 5


Brother Gronk moved swiftly back to the room. The nearest skeleton clawed at the bear, hitting with one which dealt 4 damage. The bear attacked in return and dismantled the undead with its bite and both claws. Thayross stepped up and took a swing with is magically enhanced barrel wood. The attempt missed the mark. The remaining skeleton attacked the druid with its claws. It hit once and dealt 3 damage.

Remy fired a rock from his makeshift sling but missed his opponent. Buzz moved up and smashed the undead with a large rock. The blow dealt 8 damage and shattered the monster’s skull. Osric and Magni paused as their attacks were no longer needed.

What do you do now? There is a lit passageway to the west around the corner to the north. The corridor continues into the darkness to the south.

Tuesday Blog Game - Turn 4

The far skeleton stepped up and attacked Buzz with a two-handed jab with it spear but missed the paladin. Brother Gronk stepped between the two monsters and unleashed his martial prowess. The monk struck both and destroyed them. A shower of bones and weapons hit the walls and floor.

The first barrel exploded and exposed a skeleton within. Thayross ordered his bear to move up and attack it but the animal missed. The druid moved forward to retrieved a length of wood to use as a component for a Shillelagh spell.

The second barrel exploded to reveal another skeleton. Remy shot a rock with a make-shif sling but missed the monster. Buzz having no target grabbed a spear and headed back to the room to investigate the commotion.

Osric moved back to the opening and cast Acid Splash but his spell missed the mark. Magni threw a rock at a newly emerged skeleton but the throw was wide.

Inside the room, two sealed barrels started to shake and wobble.

Tuesday Blog Game - Turn 2


You manage to open a passable hole in the wall. Most of the stones are large but some are smaller and could be easily thrown.

The hole opens into a corridor bathed in a pale green light. The source of the light appears to be a gem or crystal mounted in the opposite wall, approximately 10 feet to the left. The light shines into the room illuminating the contents.

Further to the left the corridor turns to the left. The shadows in that direction indicate movement of something heading in your direction.

To the right, the corridor continues into darkness.

Tuesday Blog Game - Turn 1


You awake on the floor of a large dark room. The stone floor is cold and damp against your face. You feel a chill through the tattered remains of your clothing.

Six strangers are in the room with you. Each just stirring awake at the same time as you. You remember who you are but you do not know where you are or how you got here. No one appears to be injured.

A few crates and barrels are scattered around the 20’ x 40’ chamber. Metal hooks are set into the walls at 10’ intervals. The stone ceiling is 10’ above.

The darkness of the room is infringed upon by a dim green light entering through the gap under a locked sturdy wooden door. The door is set into the center of one of the short walls.
