Starting yesterday, Paizo opened up a new Pathfinder playtest for their next big rule book called Mythic Adventures. The playtest document is over 50 pages and covers a wide scope of the mythic concept. I have looked through it some and it would definitely be interesting for the right campaign.

"The right campaign?" What does that mean?
ReplyDeleteit means NOT on tuesdays..
ReplyDeleteNo, it means the proper storyline. I'm not opposed to running something with this on a Tuesday. It just would mean new rules to learn. (About half of the crowd gets it whatever the rules change and the rest need to be dragged along.)
ReplyDeleteI think that this would have been a great fit for my "Head" game back in 3.0 or Christian's "Minions of Neutrality" game. The current Diablo III storyline strikes me as fitting the mythic theme. Also the classic Greek myths fit it pretty well.
Might work best with a smaller party but as with anything, it is a matter of scale. If the PCs get tougher so do the villains.
I assumed we were only doing PFS adventures (and other assorted games) on Tuesdays, not campaign-style adventures any more, because of the lackadaisical nature of the group.
