The PDF of the Beta was released today. The link for download did not change it is still:
http://paizo.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/Store.woa/wa/pathfinderRPGAlpha
This contains the same material as the printed version being released at Gen Con and also includes within the .zip file a web enhancement containing an additional 64 pages of material not printed in the book. This material contains spells and magic items removed from the printed version to keep the page count down. The material was deemed to be long, complex and/or seldom used.
The Beta contains a statement in the spell section that reads:
An S appearing at the end of a spell’s name denotes that the spell’s full description is not included in this book. This spell can be found in the 3.5 system reference document (SRD) or as part of the Pathfinder RPG Beta Web Enhancement, available for free at paizo.com.
There is also a statement appearing in the magic item section:
An S appearing at the end of a magic item’s listing denotes that the magic item’s full description is not included in this book. These magic items can be found in the 3.5 system reference document (SRD) or as part of the Pathfinder RPG Beta Web Enhancement, available for free at paizo.com.
Has anyone found a difference between the Alpha3 and the Beta? The only difference I can see (pointed out by Bruce) is that the favored multis for half-orcs is now barbarian and druid.
ReplyDeleteI asked a guy at the Paizo booth and he pointed me to another guy that was busy running a demo.
There were several changes but most were small. Much more of the basic rules were added. i.e. spells, magic items, full combat rules, etc.
ReplyDeleteThe Cleric Domains and the Wizard Specialist lists and abilities were modified.
There was a tweak to Favored class. +1 HP or +1 Skill point each level.
There were several feat changes and tweaks. Some were removed.
The cover rules changed again.
